As we begin the new year, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped us reach our end of year fundraising goal of $50,000. Your generosity makes it possible for Radiant Futures to provide year-round, no cost support to survivors and families. We enter January, Human Trafficking Awareness Month (HTAM), with momentum, hope, and a renewed commitment to this work.
January is a time to raise awareness, but at Radiant Futures, support does not stop when the month ends. Molly’s journey shows what sustained, survivor centered care can make possible. After leaving an exploitative relationship, she focused on rebuilding her life and reconnecting with her children.
Alongside these personal journeys, it is critical to understand the systems that allow trafficking to continue. Labor trafficking is one of the most common yet overlooked forms of exploitation, often hidden in everyday industries such as agriculture, hospitality, construction, domestic work, and garment manufacturing. Conscious consumerism invites us to consider how our choices impact workers’ lives. This month, we invite you to learn and take action with us at our January 15 screening of The True Cost and Sustainable Fashion Show, and our January 29 Fair-Trade Pop-Up Event.
We also invite you to take action in motion at our Sole Purpose 5K on Saturday, January 24. Whether you walk or run, you will be helping raise awareness and funds that directly support survivors and prevention efforts. Sponsorships and tickets are on sale now, and we would love to see our community come together for this meaningful cause.
Together, we can raise awareness, promote ethical practices, and stand with survivors all year long. We hope to see you at one of our events in 2026, and we deeply appreciate your continued support as we walk alongside survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking throughout the year.
In Gratitude,
Mark
