January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month, a time to shine a light on an issue that affects individuals and families in every community. At Radiant Futures, this work does not end when the month does. Support, healing, and empowerment happen every day, all year long.

Molly came to Radiant Futures after taking courageous steps to leave a relationship where she was being exploited by a partner. After separating from that relationship, Molly shared that although she was physically safe, she felt she was only beginning to rebuild what had been taken from her. With the support of family, she found stability and began to focus on what mattered most to her, reconnecting with her children.

Through community connections, Molly learned about Radiant Futures and reached out to explore support options, including our Personal Empowerment Program and legal services. Like many survivors, she felt uncertain about how much of her story to share at first. As trust grew during the intake and enrollment process, it became clear how Radiant Futures could walk alongside her in meaningful ways.

Once enrolled in both the Personal Empowerment Program and parenting education, Molly began to grow in confidence. In PEP, she reflected on her journey, including experiences from childhood and the impact of exploitation, while building tools for healing and self-determination. Parenting classes gave her practical knowledge and renewed hope as she prepared for possible reunification with her children.

Molly completed the parenting program and shared that it supported not only her role as a parent but also helped her better understand and heal parts of her own childhood. Holding her certificate was a powerful moment. It represented growth, commitment, and proof of how far she had come.

Before graduating from PEP, Molly was able to present both her progress in the program and her parenting certificate at her reunification hearing. The court granted her custody of her children. Today, Molly is thriving with her family and is working toward moving into her own home within the next year. She continues to move forward with strength, hope, and pride in what she has accomplished.
