Yuliana entered Radiant Futures over a year ago. At the time, she was unaware of the toll her partner’s financial abuse had played on her staying in the abuse cycle. Yuliana’s children were not with her and she was struggling with a below 400 credit score.

Yuliana had four goals she was determined to complete, 1) Get a job; 2) Take care of her credit; 3) Get her children back; and 4) Find a place for her family to live.

Yuliana began attending Radiant Futures’ Life Skills class that focuses on financial literacy led by our partner Pacific Premier Bank (PPB). It was important for Yuliana to work on her credit scores and start working on her credit health.

PPB teaches financial literacy and money management in an easy to understand way, and one that is tailored to survivors’ unique experiences. Because of the skills Yuliana learned, she has secured a job, found a home, increased her credit score, and best of all, she now has her children with her again.

Yuliana understands the importance of having strong credit health as it has opened doors for her. She is now teaching her teenage children how to manage their own money and the importance of budgeting.

Yuliana’s success story is a testament to the power of financial literacy and how it can positively impact one’s life. It is never too late to start taking control of your finances and learning how to make your money work for you. Yuliana is a prime example of how anyone with determination, education, and support, can achieve their financial goals.
