Did you know that financial literacy can be a game-changer for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking? It’s true! By gaining knowledge and skills in budgeting, credit health, and other financial topics, survivors can take control of their finances and build a brighter future for themselves and their families.
In fact, financial abuse is all too common in these situations, with 99% of domestic violence survivors experiencing it, and 63% of human trafficking survivors reporting that their traffickers used financial abuse as a means of control. But we’re here to say that survivors can beat the odds with the right tools and support!
Our partnership with Pacific Premier Bank, we offer a financial literacy component as a part of our Life Skill classes. Our participants learn the skills and develop the tools to improve their credit score through budgeting, clearing a path to open new doors and opportunities. Talk about a financial glow-up!
We believe that financial literacy is a critical component of survivor empowerment, and we’re committed to providing survivors with the tools they need to take control of their financial futures. With the help of our donors and supporters, we can continue to offer our financial literacy program and other essential services to survivors in our community.
So, let’s celebrate the path to financial literacy and all the survivors out there who are taking control of their finances and building a brighter future!
