Happy Pride Month! June is a time of celebration and advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community, highlighting the progress made in the fight for equality and the ongoing struggles many still face. For survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking within this community, Pride Month can be a poignant reminder of their resilience and the unique challenges they encounter. 

These individuals often face significant barriers, including a lack of safe housing, limited access to LGBTQIA+ friendly support services, and fears of discrimination when seeking help. By raising awareness of these challenges during Pride Month, we can advocate for improved policies and services tailored to the LGBTQIA+ community. This includes ensuring that shelters are inclusive, and that staff are trained to address the specific needs of LGBTQIA+ survivors, creating a safer and more supportive environment for their recovery.
